Love this place. Went for my birthday after the Guggenheim on a Tuesday at 5 PM. Danielle the server was great as was her support. Same with Crystal, the hostess. Huge portions for 3 people. Shared chicken Parmesan, lasagna and garlic bread with mozzarella. Will be back next time I’m in NY! Just wish they had craft beer!

We visited Carmine’s Upper West Side for my daughter’s birthday. It’s definitely perfect for a special occasion or group experience. It’s family style so the servings are abundant. You can definitely feed at least three adults with certain dishes. The service was excellent and we arrived at a good time… around 4:30ish before the dinner rush started showing up. I highly recommend reservations. The first person we were assigned was a super kind Ghanaian guy (didn’t catch his name). I was a little sad when he said he was leaving and turned us over to Scott. Scott ended up being superbly attentive, professional and helpful. Our food arrived relatively quickly and we were checked on often enough. He didn’t rush us and helped sing happy birthday, The atmosphere is definitely old school Manhattan, Italian style…. Very vintage yet well maintained. The music was a little loud at times but the vibe was pleasant. Everyone we interacted with was kind and courteous. Bring a big appetite.

You definitely need a reservation to get into this place. Unable to accommodate a walk-in the first night, we ate here on the second night of our trip to NYC. The food was great. Family style dining so 1-2 entrees can feed many. The shrimp cocktail were huge, the chicken marsala was the best I’ve ever had, and the lasagna was amazing as well. Come with an appetite. BUT… This place is NOT sensory friendly. By that I mean the LOUD volume of the music and the guests in the packed dining room’s response to the loud music in order to be heard/hear their own party…everyone was yelling. EVERYONE. So think yelling + blaring music….It was comparable to a bar. Actually, I think the bar was quieter. The volume level itself was probably more comparable to a small concert/bumpin’ bar with a live band. It was difficult to even hear our server with him crouching toward us & speaking very clearly. I really wanted to give this place five stars all around, but I really couldn’t. So while you will get delicious food with generous portions, you will also get a headache and very overstimulated. I would not bring anyone on the spectrum, or any sensory processing disorders, or anyone that overstimulates easily to this restaurant. Take a Tylenol or two before dining.

4/14/2024 Took a friend her for her birthday and we loved the the atmosphere is great the staff is wonderful and helpful its just and all around get place to eat. I will say definitely make reservations because the place is usually crowded. The servings are huge because they serve family style, which means one plate is meant to feed at least 4 ppl. We all order separate dishes and shared then of course we had more than enough to bring home for lunch or what have you.. i loved everything for the most part i ordered the meatballs they were very good i just didnt like the texture of the meat ut was like they took patte and formed a meatball but it was very good and for dessert i got the strawberry shortcake the only issue i had with that was the cake was brushed with coffee i could have done without that but they dont do too many accommodations but i will say they did bring it to me not put together because i didnt want all the whipped cream that came on it.. The cesar salad, calamari and the other items we ordered was great we will definitely be back.. The meals arent expensive for the amount of food you get per order either..

Too much to eat! Came for an appetizer and a drink before our show. Ate at the bar and the bartender was top notch. Had to share our calamari with others…it was fantastic.
